What you will learn:

Learn about shapes, light & values, color harmonies and contrasts, and how to put it all together. Your choice of mediums.

When I was an art student years ago, there was great emphasis placed on the student following his or her whim as the mood suited. Little time was spent discussing basic principles of composition, or shape, or light and dark, or studying the works of classical masters. For me, my full awakening as an artist came about from studying with a teacher who did emphasize these fundamentals—intensely!  So now as a teacher in my own right, I find that I naturally stress those same fundamentals.

Creating beautiful landscapes is a matter of simply learning a set of principals and then practicing, practicing, practicing.

Barbara is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Her work can be seen in numerous shows and galleries in and around California, including the Marin/Scapes Show, and Robert Allen Fine Arts.
